Gombe State Governor, Muhamma

du Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the continuous development and transformation of the state. He made this declaration on Tuesday while receiving the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, CFR, who led a delegation of district heads, title holders, and members of his emirate council on the traditional Sallah homage at the Government House in Gombe.

During the visit, Governor Yahaya expressed gratitude to the Emir for his unwavering support and guidance, which he described as instrumental in the successes recorded in the state over the past six years. He reassured the people of Gombe that his administration remains steadfast in its mission to advance infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and economic development.

“Your Highness, I welcome you and your entourage to the Government House. Happy Sallah once again. I am pleased that you acknowledge the contributions we are making towards the development of this state. I assure you and the entire people of Gombe that we will not relent in our efforts. Gombe will continue to be a model for growth and transformation,” Governor Yahaya stated.

The Governor further urged residents to continue supporting the government with prayers and constructive engagement, emphasizing that leadership thrives on divine guidance and the collective effort of the people. He also expressed hope that his successor would build upon the solid foundation his administration has laid and even surpass its achievements.

Governor Yahaya also announced plans to establish a state museum aimed at preserving and showcasing Gombe’s rich history, artifacts, and cultural heritage.

In his remarks, the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji (Dr.) Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, CFR, lauded the Governor’s visionary leadership, which he said has brought remarkable progress to the state. He highlighted key interventions in education, security, road infrastructure, and healthcare, noting that these efforts have significantly improved the state’s economy and created job opportunities for its people.

“Your Excellency, your leadership has led to massive development in Gombe State. Your interventions in education, security, road infrastructure, healthcare, and other critical sectors of growth have been outstanding. If other governors replicate what you are doing, Nigeria would have developed far beyond what it is today,” the Emir stated.

He further emphasized the importance of peace and security, commending Governor Yahaya for his tireless efforts in maintaining harmony through community policing and active engagement with local stakeholders.

Adding to the significance of the event, prominent Christian leaders from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), led by Rev. Father Yakubu Pam, joined the Governor during the Sallah homage, symbolizing unity and interfaith harmony in the state.

The visit featured the presentation of a Sallah gift to the Emir by the Governor and a grand horse procession led by the Emir in honor of the Governor, further underscoring the deep respect and appreciation between the traditional institution and the state government.
