Governor Bala Mohammed Bags 'Best Governor of the Year 2024' at Leadership Newspaper Awards
Prestigious recognition shines a spotlight on Bauchi State’s development strides under Governor Bala’s leadership.

The Banquet Hall of the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja, was alive with honor and celebration during the 17th Leadership Newspaper Annual Conference and Awards. This year’s theme, “Challenges and Opportunities in Nigeria’s Fiscal Federalism,” set the stage for recognizing impactful governance across the country.
Among the evening’s most notable honorees was His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed, who was awarded Best Governor of the Year 2024 for his administration’s bold strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and inclusive governance in Bauchi State.
The award was received on the Governor’s behalf by Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly. In a follow-up presentation ceremony, Speaker Sulaiman led a delegation of Bauchi officials to formally present the award to the Governor.
In his remarks, Governor Bala Mohammed dedicated the award to the “resilient and supportive people of Bauchi State,” pledging that the recognition would spur greater service to the state and the nation.
