Condolence Message on the Passing of Sheikh Dr. Abdulazeez Idris
It is with profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of Sheikh Dr. Abdulazeez Idris on April 3, 2025. His death is a monumental loss—not only to his immediate family and followers but also to the people of Bauchi State and the entire nation.
Dr. Idris was a rare breed of leader—a courageous patriot, a fearless truth-teller, and a man of deep compassion. I had the privilege of knowing him closely over the years, and our bond grew even stronger in 2023 during our collective efforts to mobilize the people of Bauchi to free themselves from oppressive structures.
He was never afraid to speak truth to power, regardless of whose interests were at stake. His unwavering stand for justice and his dedication to the welfare of the less privileged marked him out as a cleric with a difference, a leader who led not just with words but through bold, selfless actions.
Beyond his religious scholarship, Sheikh Dr. Abdulazeez Idris was an uncommon philanthropist whose contributions to society were rooted in humility and sincerity. His legacy will continue to echo in the lives of those he touched and in the many communities he uplifted.
On behalf of myself, my family, and all those who share in this grief, I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, disciples, and the peace-loving people of Bauchi State. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and gives us all the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
