Sallah: Bauchi Gov’t Brings Festive Cheer to 20,000 Youth and Women with Clothing Materials
For many families in Bauchi State, celebrating Sallah in new clothes has always been a cherished tradition. However, with the rising cost of living, affording such a luxury has become difficult for many. To ease this burden, the Bauchi State Government has distributed clothing materials to over 20,000 youth and women across the state, ensuring they can mark the festive season with joy and dignity.
During the distribution ceremony in Bauchi, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bala Mohammed on Youth, Alhaji Bala Sale Chiroman, announced that each of the 20 local government areas received 400 pieces of clothing materials for selected beneficiaries. He added that Bauchi Local Government received an extra share, as various community groups and associations were also included.
“This initiative is a demonstration of Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to supporting the less privileged, especially in these tough economic times. No one should feel left out of the Sallah celebrations due to financial constraints,” Alhaji Chiroman stated.
For many beneficiaries, the gestur
e couldn’t have come at a better time. Amina Usman, a widowed mother of three, expressed her gratitude, saying, “I was worried about how to provide new clothes for my children this Sallah, but this gift has lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. May God bless the governor for remembering people like us.”Similarly, the PDP Youth Leaders of Bauchi South and Bauchi North, Alhaji Buhari Batura and Alhaji Ali Wadanko, described the initiative as timely and pledged to ensure fair distribution of the materials to those most in need.
As the festive season approaches, this act of kindness has brought smiles to thousands of families, reinforcing the spirit of community and generosity that defines Sallah.
