Ramadan: Governor Inuwa Yahaya Calls for Prayers, Unity, and Generosity
As Muslims worldwide begin the holy month of Ramadan, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, also the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), has urged the Ummah to embrace empathy, love, sacrifice, and forgiveness.
He called for the promotion of peace, kindness, and obedience while encouraging the wealthy to extend generosity to those in need. The Governor also appealed to the people of Gombe State to remain law-abiding and uphold the spirit of peaceful coexistence.
Governor Yahaya emphasized that Ramadan is a time for spiritual rejuvenation, urging the faithful to dedicate themselves to prayers for peace, development, and prosperity in the state and the nation. Expressing faith in the power of prayers, commitment, and patriotism, he expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its current challenges.
Acknowledging the collective efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and fellow governors in addressing security and socio-economic issues, he urged citizens to remain vigilant, cooperate with security forces, and report suspicious activities to maintain peace and stability.
He also called on clerics to use their Tafsir sessions and other teachings to promote unity, piety, and peaceful coexistence throughout Ramadan and beyond.
Governor Yahaya reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to ensuring peace, security, and the well-being of the people. He also highlighted the inauguration of the 2025 Ramadan Palliative Committees, tasked with distributing relief materials to ease economic hardship during the holy month.
