PDP Will Retain Power in 2027 – Ex-Chairman Garba Noma

By Abdulwahab Muhammad, Bauchi

A former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Noma, has expressed confidence that the party will retain power in the 2027 gubernatorial election. He assured that PDP remains the preferred choice for the people of Bauchi and will work towards presenting a strong candidate capable of continuing the state’s development.

Speaking to journalists in Bauchi, Noma emphasized his commitment to supporting any gubernatorial candidate that emerges from the party, regardless of their local government of origin. His comments come after a recent debate over whether the next governor should come from Bauchi Local Government Area. He clarified that his statement on the matter was merely a wishful prayer, reiterating that his main concern is ensuring that PDP fields a candidate with the right capacity and vision.

“What happened was that someone commented that the next governor of Bauchi should come from Bauchi Local Government. I responded with a prayer, saying, ‘May Allah give us.’ But I want to make it clear that I will support anybody from any local government who emerges as the PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2027,” Noma stated.

He called for unity, peace, and collaboration among party members to ensure the PDP remains strong ahead of the elections. According to him, internal cohesion and fairness in the selection of candidates will be key to securing victory.

Meanwhile, the opposition All

Progressives Congress (APC) faces internal challenges that could affect its chances in the 2027 elections. Despite having strong candidates, concerns over the imposition of candidates remain a significant issue within the party. Political observers believe that unless APC adopts a more democratic approach in selecting its flag bearer, PDP may have an easier path to victory.

As the 2027 election approaches, the political landscape in Bauchi remains dynamic, with both parties strategizing to win public support.
