Gombe Govt Reaffirms Commitment to Security, Hands Over Vehicles to Agencies
Gombe, Nigeria – March 1, 2025
Security agencies in Gombe State have received a major boost as Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya formally handed over 50 operational and surveillance vehicles to law enforcement outfits. The move, described as unprecedented, is part of the government’s continuous efforts to enhance security and maintain the state’s peaceful status.
Following the handing-over ceremony, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Col. Abdullahi Bello (rtd), led a ‘Show of Force’ exercise, with security operatives parading the streets to demonstrate their preparedness.
"Gombe State is making remarkable progress because we have peace, and this stability is not accidental. It is the result of deliberate efforts by the government," Col. Bello stated, reaffirming Governor Yahaya’s commitment to security.
He noted that the intervention directly addressed concerns raised by security agencies over logistics constraints, ensuring they are well-equipped to combat crime.
Also speaking, the Director-General of GOSTEC, ACP Ibrahim Bappah (rtd), praised the governor’s commitment and assured residents of the agencies’ readiness to protect lives and property.
The security initiative follows the recently concluded 2nd Gombe State Security Summit, where experts and stakeholders commended the state government’s approach to tackling insecurity through collective action
