As Muslims in Gombe State, Nigeria, and across the world mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has reaffirmed his call for unity, resilience, and a deepened commitment to fostering a society built on peace, love, and moral integrity.
In his goodwill message, Governor Yahaya, who also serves as the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, urged Muslim faithful to sustain the spiritual values gained during Ramadan, incorporating them into daily life for the betterment of individuals, families, and the society at large.
“The virtues of sacrifice, self-discipline, and compassion learned during the holy month should guide our actions beyond Ramadan,” the Governor stated. “Let us remain steadfast in upholding these values and working towards a harmonious and prosperous Gombe State.”
Governor Yahaya emphasized the need for unity, particularly as Nigeria continues to navigate economic challenges. He reassured citizens that brighter days lie ahead, with his administration steadfastly implementing policies and programs aimed at economic recovery, social welfare, and sustainable development.
“At this critical juncture, our nation requires men and women of high moral character to counter the negative actions of a few who seek to undermine our collective progress. By embracing the principles of justice, fairness, and hard work, we can chart a better course for our dear state and country,” he added.
The Governor also underscored the importance of supporting the less privileged, reminding the Muslim community that charity and empathy should extend beyond Ramadan. “Let us continue to show compassion and lend a helping hand to those in need, ensuring that no one is left behind in our pursuit of progress,” he urged.
Reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to peace and security, Governor Yahaya assured that Gombe State will not tolerate any threats to its prevailing stability. He reiterated his resolve to delivering democratic dividends through people-focused programs, citing ongoing efforts in infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and industrialization.
“Our agricultural initiatives are opening new opportunities for farmers, while our industrialization efforts are creating jobs and stimulating economic growth. I encourage our people to embrace these opportunities and actively contribute to our collective prosperity,” he stated.
Governor Yahaya called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to continue partnering with the government in fostering peace and socio-economic development. He assured that his administration remains committed to implementing strategic initiatives that will uplift Gombe State and its people.
“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, let us renew our dedication to unity, peace, and productivity. Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Gombe where every citizen thrives,” he concluded.
