From Abdulwahab Muhammad Bauchi
A medical doctor, a pharmacist, and two others are currently in police custody following the tragic death of a 20-year-old security guard, Polmi Dauda, in Bauchi.
The Bauchi State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, confirmed the arrests in a crime bulletin shared with journalists on Sunday. The case is being investigated as a possible culpable homicide.
According to CSP Wakil, the incident was reported on March 22, 2025, at about 12:50 PM by the victim’s brother, Mr. Danda Dauda, at the Bauchi Metro Area Command. The case was later transferred to the E Divisional Police Headquarters in Yelwa for further investigation.
Mr. Dauda reported that his brother, Polmi, had sustained severe injuries following an altercation with several individuals near Larema Hotel, where he worked as a security guard. Despite efforts by medical personnel at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Polmi was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Possible Motive Behind the Incident

The suspects include:
- Ibrahim Yahaya, a pharmacist at ATBUTH
- Musa Awwal, a medical doctor at ATBUTH
- Imrana Ibrahim, a local businessman
- Zakariya’u Isah, another security guard
Police believe the four individuals conspired to confront the deceased, leading to the fatal outcome.
