Gombe Governor Swears in New Security Adviser, Inaugurates Boards of Tertiary Institutions, Agencies, and Commissions

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, on Wednesday, swore in a new Special Adviser on Security Matters and inaugurated the chairpersons and members of boards for state-owned tertiary institutions, agencies, and commissions.
A statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General of Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, confirmed the event. After administering the oath of office to the new Special Adviser, Abubakar Aminu Musa, Governor Yahaya underscored the critical role of security in driving development. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
"The security of our people remains our topmost priority. As we consolidate on the progress made so far, we expect you to work closely with security agencies and stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and conducive environment for economic growth and social stability," the governor stated.
In a related development, Governor Yahaya also inaugurated newly constituted boards of various tertiary institutions, agencies, and commissions, urging them to uphold transparency, accountability, and efficiency in carrying out their responsibilities.
"We are determined to reposition our institutions and agencies for better service delivery. Your appointment is a call to duty, and I expect you to justify the confidence reposed in you. I charge you to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and efficiency in your duties," he added.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated board members, Haj. Aishatu Jibir Dukku, Chairperson of the Board of the College of Education and Legal Studies, Nafada, expressed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve. She pledged their commitment to improving the institutions under their purview.
"Your Excellency, we assure you of our dedication to achieving greater milestones for these institutions, commissions, and boards. We will work diligently to elevate them for the benefit of Gombe State. We consider this assignment a national service that demands dedication, sacrifice, and strict adherence to the laws governing these institutions, and we pledge to discharge our roles responsibly," she affirmed.
In his welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, emphasized that the appointments were based on merit and dedication to the state. He urged the appointees to validate the trust placed in them by contributing to the governor’s progressive vision for Gombe.
