Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army in tackling security challenges across the region.

The Governor made this known while receiving the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Armoured Division, Major-General Folusho Oyinlola, who paid a courtesy visit to the Government House in Gombe as part of his familiarization tour of the five states under his command—Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba.

Commending the GOC’s proactive approach since assuming office, Governor Yahaya emphasized the need for intensified military operations to curb criminal activities and strengthen security in Gombe and neighboring states. He acknowledged the crucial role of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in maintaining peace and assured full government support in their mission.

In response, Major-General Oyinlola praised the Governor’s leadership and commitment to security, noting that Gombe remains one of the most peaceful states in the North-East despite regional security challenges. He assured continued collaboration with the state government, emphasizing the military’s engagement with local communities and stakeholders to enhance security operations.

The visit marks a renewed commitment to joint efforts in combating security threats and ensuring stability in the region.
