Governor Inuwa Yahaya Appoints Chairman, Members of Gombe State University Governing Council

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has approved the appointment of the Chairman and members of the Governing Council of Gombe State University (GSU).
The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval, said the appointments are effective from 18th January, 2025.
He listed the appointees as follows:
1. Prof. Baba Yusuf Abubakar (University of Abuja) - Chairman
2. Engr. Idriss Abdullahi Kwami (Fini Aluminium Industry Ltd) - Member
3. Prof. Caleb Kudi (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, ABU Zaria) - Member
4. Barr. Maljengo M. Kaltungo (Asokoro, FCT) - Member
5. Prof. Mairo Abdullahi (Dept. of Business Administration, Usman Danfodio University Sokoto) - Member
6. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education - Member
7. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice - Member
8. Four Representatives of the Senate - Members
9. One Representative of the Congregation - Member
10. One Representative of the Convocation - Member
11. The Vice-Chancellor - Member
12. Deputy Vice-Chancellors (Admin and Academic) - Members
13. The Registrar - Secretary
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Baba Yusuf Abubakar, is a renowned academic with extensive experience in university administration. Other members were carefully selected for their expertise in academia, law, engineering, and public service to ensure a robust and diverse leadership structure.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed confidence in the new Council's capacity to uphold Gombe State University's reputation as a hub of academic excellence in Nigeria.
