Governor Bala says Army curtailed the activities of the insurgents , put pressure on bandits -

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has commended the military for their effort that shows the military significantly curtailed the activities of insurgents in the North East, as well as putting bandits in the North West under pressure.
Governor Bala said that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remained a binding force uniting the nation and supportive in ensuring that democracy has come to stay in the country.
He commended the sacrifices of officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Armed Forces in remaining professional, saying Nigeria remains indivisible due to roles and the sacrifices of the Armed Forces Nigeria and the fallen heroes.
The governor gave the commendation during the year 2025 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Parade and Wreath Laying Ceremony which took place at IBB Square, Bauchi. He stressed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria has successfully kept the unity of country, hence the need to recognize their contributions and sacrifices.
Governor Bala who was the Special Guest of Honour and Reviewing Officer at the event, gifted a 406 Peugeot Saloon to the State Chairman of the legion in Bauchi State for mobility and easy running the affairs of legionnaires in the state. He maintained that the retired service men effectively contributed in preserving the territorial integrity of Nigeria, thus the reason to care for their wellbeing.
The year 2024 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Parade in Bauchi State commenced on 18 December 2024 with the Launching of the Remembrance Emblem during an Appeal Fund by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State. It was thereafter followed by a Special Jummah Prayers at 251 Base Services Group Nigerian Air Force on 12 January 2025 and the Inter Denominational Church Service held on 14 January 2025 at Saint Matthew’s Protestant Church, Obienu Barracks Bauchi. Additionally, the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Dr Aisha Bala Mohammed was at the 33 Artillery Brigade Medical Centre where she donated some drugs, food items and wrappers in honour of families of widows of the fallen heroes and men of the Nigerian legion.
Climaxed of the grand finale was the wreath laying ceremony and the release of the pigeons by the Special Guest of Honour and other dignitaries and a free medical outreach for the legionnaires and other guests. Also, the Commander 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, Brig Gen Emmanuel Egbe treated senior officers, widows of the fallen heroes, members of Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association and those of Soldiers Wives Association, special guests and other distinguished dignitaries to a lunch reception he organized at the Vulcan Officers Mess, Shadawanka Barracks, Bauchi.
Speaking during the lunch, the Special Guest of Honour and Commander Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, Maj Gen Mohammed Ahmed said the event was not only designed to reflect in regrets of losing colleagues, but to also celebrate the unity that Nigeria is enjoying today. He urged all well-meaning individuals and groups to rally magnanimously to support the families of the fallen heroes. Activities for year 2025 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day in Bauchi State were graced by very senior military officers serving and retired, dignitaries from all walks of life and heads of paramilitary agencies in the state.
