Speaking during the occasion held in Zaranda Village of Toro Local Government Area on Saturday, Buba, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, explained that the N850 million road project is part of his constituency’s initiatives as captured and approved in the 2024 budget.
He added that “N850 million is committed to the project. The construction is to be implemented within four weeks to provide sustainable access roads in rural areas, thereby facilitating agricultural activities and enhancing economic opportunities for the rural populace.
“It is a complement to my duty as a senator. During the electioneering process, the people of Zaranda brought their complaints about the road to me, which I promised to address in the Senate.
Today’s flag-off is a manifestation of the promise I made to you. By the grace of Almighty Allah, I will fulfill all other promises, come rain or shine, no matter the needless distractions and turbulence.
In light of this historic development, this official flag-off of the 2.5 kilometers of road in Zaranda is just the tip of the iceberg in the catalog of programmes we intend to carry out for the people of Bauchi South Senatorial District.”
Buba also expressed his commitment to providing similar developmental initiatives in other parts of the Bauchi South Senatorial District.
According to him, there are two other road projects approved through ecological funds that will be awarded soon.
He hinted at more projects, including “70 hand pumps, 15 solar water pumps, 200 solar lights, and renovations of many schools in about three local government areas.
“Others include renovations of hospitals and various forms of empowerment for my constituents.”
He stressed that, regardless of political party sentiments, his projects are designed to benefit all constituents of the Bauchi South Senatorial District
"I also have different types of empowerment for youths and women, and other vulnerable members of the society. I also have in the pipeline, renovation of schools, renovation and building of new health facilities, all of which are embodied in my 2024 constituency projects already approved by the National Assembly".
Buba further explained that as the only APC senator in Bauchi state, he is representing the three senatorial districts of the state for the other two, Central and North districts to feel the impact of APC administration ruling the entire center.
He appealed to the contractor to exhibit quality jobs on the project, not substandard, and urged the benefitting communities to support and cooperate with the contractor, and where necessary own and guard the project against vandalization.
