Bauchí Deputy Governor Welcome's USAID-Integrated Child Health Services: Assures Government Support to the Project.

The Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, (Madugun Katagum) on Applauded the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for supporting the implementation of Health Insurance and Start-up Kits in the state.
Auwal Jatau made the commendation at the flagging off ceremony of the project held at Command Guest House, Bauchi, and saying "this initiative marks a significant milestone in our collective effort to support vulnerable households, particularly those affected by HIV in Bauchi State,"
Represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Engineer Haruna Barde, the Deputy Governor noted that the Project's efforts to integrate health services with vocational training are a model of holistic development, addressing both immediate needs and long-term solutions.
According to him, provision of health insurance is crucial in ensuring that the most vulnerable citizens get access to the healthcare they need without the burden of financial strain, hence the need to remove barriers to pave the way for healthier communities and brighter futures.
"The vocational skills training and start-up kits that will accompany this health insurance are equally vital. It represents an opportunity for self-sufficiency and resilience, enabling individuals to create sustainable livelihoods. In a world where economic stability is essential for well-being, this initiative will empower our people to build a better future for themselves."
Auwal Jatau therefore assured you that the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed is fully committed to collaborating with the project as it recognizes the importance of partnerships in achieving its goals by creating a sustainable framework that not only addresses health concerns but also empowers our citizens economically.
In her keynote address, the state's first lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, represented by the Commissioner of Women Affairs, Zainab Baban Takko urged stakeholders including community leaders, health workers, and the beneficiaries to actively participate and take ownership of the project as their engagement will be crucial to its success.
On his part, the ICHSSA- 4 Project Chief of Party, Dr. Joseph Inyang explained that the project seeks to improve the wellbeing of orphans and vulnerable children with their households by mitigating the impact of HIV and other causes of vulnerability in the states of Bauchi, Adamawa, Taraba, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara.
